"Get in your time machine, today we're going for a #BlastFromThePast for #TuneTuesday π
Thanks to @lpl we're focusing on music that you like from the past, it could be from a specific era for you, or just a song that's old that you like"
Wow, that's pretty broad. So many things come to mind... Ok, here's something really, really remote in my memory banks which warrants telling a little weird story (as I am wont to do). :)
When I was quite young, we had one bathroom that had double sinks. I was able to lie down on the counter between the sinks, and one of my older sisters would wash my hair in the sink. She would work up a *lot* of lather and then do what she would call "Alfalfa" -- I would sit up, and she would make my hair stand up in one big spike. I dimly knew Alfalfa was a character from Little Rascals who had hair that stuck up in a point. (I never watched LR and not till this very moment have I ever seen an actual picture of Alfalfa.)
Oh, the song, you ask... well, while we were admiring my spike of hair in the mirror, whichever sister it was would sing, "What's it all about, Alfie?"
I love Dionne Warwick, and while this is not my absolute favorite of her songs, this is my pick for today. Fin. βοΈ
p.s. Boy, Dionne Warwick can sing.
