After reading a few letter, I am now persuaded that Srinivasa Ramanujan, perhaps one of the greatest mathematicians that ever lived, died in part by his English hosts' unwillingness to accommodate his vegetarianism. The man became suspicious everything they tried to feed him had meat (which I can totally understand) and ended up on a very restricted diet.
