There’s a good chance Miles needs surgery to close a fissure between the roof of his mouth and his nasal passage (specifically, where a front tooth was extracted. It doesn’t seem to have healed correctly and/or got worse across the weeks). He’ll probably be okay, but he’s 13 and diabetic, and I know recovery will be tricky and upsetting.
