I really didn't want to buy a Ford F-250, but I had no choice. (I needed it to tow my trailer/ RV). The truck weighs over 7000 pounds and I think that's insane honestly. A small car or motorcycle let alone a bike rider or a pedestrian would be flattened like a pancake were we to collide. But I am very thankful for the safety features it does have. There is active radar all around the damn thing so that if there's something in front of my bumper (or something even moving towards my vehicle) the thing definitely lets me know with alarms and warnings on my dashboard (like the whole display flashes red with white writing to alert me) so at least Ford has thought about safety a little bit. But it does make you wonder how many people had to die before Ford was either forced, or felt enough guilt, to do something about it.

A new 5 yr Belgian study shows the BIG impact of increasing vehicle weight on road deaths & injuries. When a person on a bike or walking is hit by a pick-up, the risk of serious injury increases by 90% compared to a car. The risk of death goes up by 200%.
