the amount of previously Windows-dependent friends who switched to Linux because of W11 is getting larger every day here. They're still choosing odd distros before asking for recommendations but I'm cautiously optimistic about them staying too. Especially people who care about privacy, and not wasting (genAI) energy have the will to change.
