Anyone who's stuck with it to book 5 is probably invested in the main couple.
It's tricky, this book is mainly following an ace character's arc since he has the most world knowledge and the couple are in a stable place.
It's fun to see where everyone is landing after 7-some years though, I'm still enjoying it.
