1960s: ADHD was called the "Hyperkinetic reaction of childhood" borne out of stressors and socioeconomic distress really.
1970s: Child hyperkinetic syndrome.
Modern: Although some psychosocial stressors contribute, most certainly poverty, high emotional reactivity in the home, marital discord, it is a NEUROBIOLOGICAL developmental trajectory.
