I've been having this conversation a lot. The scary part is less trying to make people understand that they need to fact check any automated response they get from LLMs, the scary part is that nobody seemed to realize they already had to do that with the old version from dumb algorithms.

In any case, the tech is fascianting, the applications they are trying to deploy for it often range from conceptually broken to inefficient, but that doesn't mean it's useless.
