I found Matrix a bit of a shift as well (having gone through IRC, Slack, Teams and Mattermost beforehand). Now Matrix is my favourite group messaging tool, although I agree it's all about how people use it. For Matrix on Sailfish OS I switch between Hydrogen and Sailtrix.
How do you find Threema? I've not used it but am very curious.
