I hope it's true. I don't want anyone to suffer. But it seems highly dubious, especially when minors are involved.

I understand what it's like being in a situation where you're completely fixated on one thing, and being 100% convinced that nothing can help you feel better, other than getting that one thing you desire. I understand what it's like being deeply suicidal over such a feeling and not seeing a way out.

In my case, it took about 5 years for me to slowly get out of that feeling, in the sense that I gave up on what I was seeking, because I had to accept that it was not attainable. After that, I continued being deeply depressed and suicidal. I needed another 10 years and a ton of luck to finally start to become happy because some very positive things eventually happened in my life.

That's 15 freaking years.
