Nine years ago today, I met up with an old friend for some tacos. We hadn't seen each other in 4-5 years, and we had only reconnected because she was back in town and responded to a random Facebook message I'd sent her three years earlier about the Royal Tenenbaums.

It was a beautiful, clear day, one of the first nice days of the end of summer
