I understand the idea of eternal life, but I don’t get the theological assumptions of people who believe their dead loved ones in Heaven become something like minor gods, influencing events that happen on earth. “Mom, I know you’re in Heaven protecting us and making sure we’re okay.” What theology tells someone that the dead have powers? Even the saints can only intercede.
