USB-C isn't going to solve that problem. maybe there will be a short period before they pivot to doing the exact same thing by requiring you to use their own cables and power supplies, but we'll end up in the exact same spot
and if legislation comes down to prevent it, they could've just as easily forced an actually good appliance power standard instead of the ridiculous rube goldberg USB-C shit we've got now
