I know it's a dead horse, but can we please stop pretending that "the economy is great, the problem is the media saying it sucks"? It was always delusion, and now there's not even any political benefit.

"The economy" was, and still is, "doing great" for capital.

Of course wages at the bottom went up. Firms simply couldn't hire otherwise. Not least because a fuckton of people had just died or became disabled.

But the GAINS were all at the top.
