Here's a crazy thought, might it be useful for two participants to generate key pairs only to be used in a single encrypted exchange? You could exchange temporary public keys up front (encrypted) and then send subsequent messages using the corresponding private keys. Once you're done throw away the keys and you don't have to worry about the messages potentially being read later if you accidentally leak your primary private key
