it kind of represents a division in HEMA practitioners. there are people that want to simulate a single maiming hit and calling that exchange over. on the other end is the more sportified fencer that wants the fight to go on like how a boxer might continue to jab at their opponent's face many times before the end of the round.

I agree, it does sound more fun because it would mean I get more time in actually fighting. It is probably more fun for viewers too, which is why I think stuff like the continuous bashing format of armored buhurt is way more entertaining to watch than a lot of HEMA fights
