There have been times where gold was used as currency, or another commodity like wine, collectible cards, tulips, and salt. In modern times, money isn't even printed! They're just speculating on if they had the money, and speculating on the speculators, and so on. Control of money printing and capitalism are very synergistic, but they are two different things. Just taking control of money printing isn't sufficient to save you. You might as well equate war with capitalism. It's true, and yet it's not!
