I've decided to write something. I don't know what, so it might be closer to a stream-of-consciousness thing.
Everyone has heard of their life flashing before their eyes at the time of death. The odd thing is old, shelved memories from the past have been making themselves known to me even though I'm alive and well.
Maybe it's the excess time I spend alone. Maybe it's because I literally see humanity spiralling towards its demise. I suspect it's a little of both.
Some of the things that I have been remembering, is that my childhood is weird. A girlfriend at age 7. Beth. Her father in the military, mother at a full time job. She, left alone in the house all day long. She learned how to take care of the house so early on. I went over there all the time and helped her with her daily chores. Contrary to what you might think, her parents were kind people. She wasn't punished if a chore was left undone. Just a normal family with that one strange quirk. We played in our spare time. 1/3
