“Dear Will, I like to scroll the “universe.” I know it’s a gamble and I might see something I don’t like and that’s a risk I’m willing to accept. I don’t report things that I don’t like or disagree with. There is some pretty weird stuff out there and I want everyone to let their “freak flag fly.” Uncensored posting is one of the things that attracted me to the NOSTR protocol. Who knows, maybe I’ll open my mind to new ideas.
However, I’ve seen a few kiddie porn posts over the last couple days and I’m disturbed. I feel, as most of us do, violently aggressive towards individuals that sexually abuse children. I flag the post as “illegal content” and mute the user. Maybe seeing this content is opening my eyes to just how widespread the problem is, IDK. But when I saw what appeared to be a nine year old with a grown man’s dick in her mouth I felt like I needed to reach out to you directly. I know you are not responsible for, or can control content. Maybe we can have a zapathon to pay you for your time wherein kiddie porn has it’s own flag which will be sent to the authorities. IDK the answer and I’m looking for ideas, but we need your help. What can we as Damus users and you as the developer do to hunt down and neutralize the part of humanity that should be erased from existence?
