First, let's differentiate the issues. Totalitarianism requires a certain amount of organization, but primarily messianic leadership. Anarchism, more than an organization, is a way of seeing the world, like a philosophy.

I agree that extremes are not effective and, also, are toxic in the long term.

Second, from a management perspective, yes and no. It's effective for the team to be aligned and for everyone to move in the same direction. However, this has a trade-off if diversity of opinion is not promoted. The leader on duty must ensure that everyone share opinions without fear of making mistakes. Of course, once the path is agreed upon, the compromise must come, not in a rigorous manner but through constant validation of the circumstances and the environment. Of course, this easy to say but difficult to achieve.
