Scoundrel on Nostr: I notice there are a lot of angry people in this world, and who will say their anger ...
I notice there are a lot of angry people in this world, and who will say their anger is because humanity is encountering avoidable hardship because they are being sabotaged by the actions of other humans. However, I wonder how many of these people's anger is truly because of avoidable hardship and how many people's anger is simply due to their inability to cope with the idea of unavoidable hardship.
If you think there is unnecessary hardship in the world, (there is) and you believe that some of it is due to the actions of other humans, (some of it is) then I have a thought experiment and a challenge for you!
Imagine a world where life on the human level was more or less the same as it is now, but where physics was different on other levels. Imagine these humans are able to achieve technology comparable to our own, but due to harsh physical limits, they are unable to develop very far beyond. My questions are these: what would you expect to happen in the next 1000 years? How should these humans organize their society over that time? How should they cope with their unavoidable hardships? I have some thoughts, but I'm not quite sure myself. I'd love to hear yours.
