I was out in the yard the other day and felt watched. Looked around and saw this red shouldered hawk sitting in a tree nearby, intently watching the ground. Moments later, it swooped down, caught something in the grass, and began eating it. After it was done, it flew up and sat on a fence post. It didn't seem to mind my presence at all. I hope it had a tasty snack.
