The reason is that I was unhappy with the leadership at Fosstodon.

Why mastodon.social? I didn't want to take on hosting an instance, so the main instance seemed like the obvious choice. I don't want to have to move again and I hope and trust that the main instance will be led by people I am happy with. 🤞 on that one.
