Then there was one time when I opened the birthControl bait box, I found a mom-rat and two babies eternally sleeping, huddled together. They must’ve eaten the neighbor’s poison bait, and came here for a quiet place to rest. I buried them together in my flowerbed.
No matter how many times I find ex-rats in and around my flowerbed, it never gets easier, emotionally. It brings me down every time, how so thoughtlessly cruel human cultures has been towards these wee wild animals. Like, a life means nothing to them… whether it’s their food, pest, or lab-test.
So, anyway, I’m very grateful that the birthControl rat bait exists. It lets me observe them discretely.
