This week I've been mainly reading, no. 216.
Jonathan Brown's mixture of personal reflections & art history, In the Shadow of Velazquez (2014) is a light & breezy read, that self-avowedly finds it origins in a series of public lectures. It has some interesting art history (on Spanish workshops, for instance) but also tells us a little about art historians' lives. While not a crucial book, its an entertaining read (if that's not damning with faith praise).
