I agree with you and don't follow the "it is my right" movement. If you read Nostr's definition on GitHub it states that nostr is "The simplest open protocol that is able to create a censorship-resistant global "social" network once and for all." Then it lists the reasons that make other solutions like Twitter and Mastodon broken and the central critique is regarding banning and shadow banning people and one of the statement says: "...users are subject to the despotism of a single person, which is often worse than that of a big company like Twitter, and they can't migrate out;"

There is no problem in my view that each app and/or relay creates its sets of rules that users have to follow. My only argument is that if ONE single app dominates the nostr "universe" and this app also controls the biggest relay we fall subject to the despotism of a single person again. So we end up back at the creation of nostr as a solution to this situation.
