Can anyone tell me what Benedict Evans means by the phrase 'feeds and speeds', which he says refers to an era of computing in the late 80s, early 90s?
I guess we were all obsessed with chip speeds back then but what's a 'feed' in this context?
He uses the phrase all the time and never really explains it and it's fundamentally ungoogleable these days because there's a "speeds and feeds" phrase in machine tools which Google insists is what I want no matter how many quotes and plus signs I use.
