I know what people *think* about fountain pens, but I've actually carried them around and used them for the last 15 years and I've never had one leak in my pocket, or in a bag, or anywhere. my secret? I carry it nib up. that's it.
...and there's no reason to think a typical, properly made fountain pen from the 1930s or 40s would have leaked more than a modern fountain pen
