I disabled my Facebook account about 15 years ago on an attempt to *preserve* relationships with people that were posting hateful and wrong content. It wasn't enough. But I also lost other relationships entirely, good friends that built every social event on Facebook and didn't bother reaching out separately. So there is a cost, but it's worth paying.
