transition is like taking a long plane ride somewhere. You spent your life waiting on the tarmac and now you’re excited to be in the air. Then you realize it’s long and hard and eventually you just want off the ride. Eventually you learn that the flight wasn’t the point but the destination.
You settle into the new place, soon you are just like the locals. But it doesn’t change the fact that you aren’t one, it just becomes less relevant, you were always a transplant, always took that long plane ride.
