here's what it looks like in parts. it felt more generally beat up than dirty but I cleaned it anyway.
I also did a solder reflow on a big chip and the wifi board connector like I wanted to, since I thought they may have been damaged by bending the board. Also in some other places obviously tinkered with - now that I have a second pristine (other than my own work) board to compare with, I can tell there's a bunch, including a fuse replacement related to issues with powering the console on. Slowly starting to lose faith in this board...
Dunno if any of this helped, I'd have to play for a bit and I don't want to touch my good ds now or assemble in shell with a broken hinge (still waiting for the fancy new one). Generally fucking with it gave me the idea that the battery connector could be faulty too, so I'll be looking into that and shelling out $1 for replacement power switch next if issues persist.
