Mostly.
The great advantage of battery EVs is low-RPM torque (ie high acceleration). I wish an EV company would max out on low-speed performance (think 0-40 MPH or 0-60 KPH) and minimize cost, de-prioritizing top speed, range and most creature comforts.
My "dream" EV car:
<150 mile range (which addresses range anxiety by making it clear this thing is not going to work for more than a commute or going to the local shops and you'll need to rent another vehicle for that)
2 Seats
Luggage space for a bag of golf clubs (I don't golf but others do and this is a good minimum metric)
Lots of acceleration from low speeds (ie high grip and torque)
Excellent brakes (possibly eddy current style)
Power steering (possibly wire but ideally mechanical)
Good suspension
Air conditioning
No radio/stereo
No keyless entry
No power windows
No power seats
No heated seats
I think you could price such a thing around or below modern combustion entry level prices. It should be tremendously fun to drive and practical enough that men without children (or with another car to carry the kids in) buy them like crazy.
