Oceans Craig on Nostr: When deploying ocean instruments around the #Antarctic margin its usual to keep them ...
When deploying ocean instruments around the #Antarctic margin its usual to keep them deep because #icebergs come along and drag them off somewhere unfindable. However, we are taking a punt and one of our moorings comes quite close to the surface (50m). All the while as we set the thing up the horizon was filled with icy aircraft carriers... dozens of them. Putting anything in the ocean is a risk so we are still going for it. This one mustve been 2km long
