Not at all. With the fan unit it's cooler as fresh air is being blown inside at a high rate - the resulting positive pressure is how you get the high APF.
For the same reason it is extremely easy to breathe.
I haven't tried it outdoors in very cold weather, like the -20C we have now. That might be unbearable.
