#today we said our good-byes to a good family friend of the past 60 years. The Beech (Fagus grandifolia) tree that my father and I planted in 1963 is suffering badly from beech leaf disease. (more here:) https://yff.yale.edu/news/beech-leaf-disease-new-haven-and-beyond
It's starting to drop branches and is becoming hazardous, so we have had no choice but to call in the arborists to take it down. It's a sad time and it will be missed. I post this to honor it's life and mark it's passing. 1/
