i just watched blade runner for the first time and it was an incredibly pretty movie. it's ideas are all very old to me and occasionally problematic, yet it makes it all feel magical in the moment. what gets me is that i've been exposed to sooooo much cyberpunk media just like it and i found them all boring, irrelavant, and often aesthetically icky when they're trying to be pretty. this is the exception.
