haha it's not that it's a thermal insulator it's that it creates layer in the atmosphere which reflects certain wavelengths of light back to earth. especially thermal radiation. That's how it works, among other green house gases. But CO2 is one of the least problematic so yeah, idk why they hype on it so much..
