I understand. It certainly is an interesting topic, where historically there was e.g. the Lex Krupp, and John J. McCloy, who worked with corporations in Nazi Germany, to then as High commissioner help some of the regime-industrialists.
I just think, that it can be recognized that the U.S. has a general stance of: "no state regulations - Freedom and all, no mingling of state, etc." - and the remark could be taken in that context, to talk about why EU is no fan of platforms run amok.
