I’m sort of in the same space as you. Especially for these Specialist games - less editions less frequently would be my preference. But they’re a business so go figure, they know that a new edition boosts sales, so I can’t expect much different from that.

I really agree with you, think this is a case of refine and remove rather than bolting more to it. It’s an amazing game, streamline it a bit more, keep the tactical puzzle and the fast pace, but find ways to gently simplify it.
