Tip: In your Mastodon settings under "Follows and followers" you can filter the people you follow or the people that follow you by account activity. Selecting "Dormant" and "Order by Last Active" you can easily remove accounts that haven't been active for at least a couple of months.
I just threw out about 100 inactive accounts this way
