A fun thing to do is benchmark user interface efficiency for tasks (similar to code benchmarks). It can be useful for comparing the time between different tasks and adjusting the user interface based on user's priorities as well as for optimizing the time for frequent tasks.
Some of this is intuitive, however there are some useful models to calculate and compare times:
Hick's Law - The time a person takes to make a decision from multiple choices.
Fitts Law - The time to move (mouse or finger) to a target is expressed as a ratio between the distance to, and width of, the target.
GOMS - A method to compare efficiency of different interfaces using a standard set if times for each action.
