Smart contact lenses demonstrated that generate power from light, tears, and blinking.

A health monitoring holy grail, smart contact lenses will (hopefully):

- monitor health metrics like glucose levels
- deliver drugs related to eye diseases
- assist with augmented reality

The power problem was a major stumbling block, so this is a big step forward.
