Well said. Jesus was not 'the first Christian' because 'Christianity' is not primarily a 'way of life' but belief in the gospel (news) _about_ Jesus. He is more an object of faith than he is an example of it.
(And yes--I am channeling Machen contra the Modernists here. 😉)
