Instead, they present a USB DAC, either over the low-speed differential pair in the USB-C cable (for the old 4K, maybe new 5K?) or via a Thunderbolt USB controller (new 4K, and all 5Ks). You would need to convince the PS5 to send audio not out its HDMI port, but via USB, and almost certainly over Thunderbolt.",
