Today has been an exercise in humouring supposedly grown adults unironically claiming that if I don't believe in their fairy tale that their bogeyman will get me. And when I fail to cower in fear, they go on to point their forefingers wildly in all directions shouting `pew! pew!` (pun intended) as though I should prostrate myself to seek cover. They are in the majority, and this is why I am often quite cynical.
