I was excited when I first encountered AI images. It was interesting and surprising.
But as time passes, the more normalised AI becomes, the less I like it.
Currently, I think there is little benefit to LLMs and generative AI.
I think their environmental cost, the fragmentation of shared reality and the pollution of the information sphere vastly negate any novelty or benefit.
I don't want to use them if I can avoid it. I think an "AI-Free guarantee" may soon become a mark of pride.
