I'm sure a decent % of nodes are run by TLAs. What that number is, is hard to tell. Maybe there's some stats. But if they employ 30,000 journalists it stands to reason that they have 1000s of cyber staff. And with only 5000 tor nodes, they can probably get a good chunk of it. Most people that use tor are honest, but they would like to catch those that they think are breaking laws. I think that's how they got Ross. Snowden uses it, so that gives me hope, but then Snowden might already be tracked. It's a tricky one, I could be convinced either way, but trust requires verification.
