What danger? Because they said now they’re responding to legal requests/monitoring? Your chats are no less private there than they were before. Not saying it needs to be telegram, but my point is that if you have a large group chat then it is the same as having a public community and you might as well approach it as such. Everyone in that group can share the contents and you should expect that they do. Especially if it’s a group that you constantly add new people too. Don’t larp about privacy is all I’m saying. If you were using telegram then it wasn’t private anyway.
