Now I'm wondering what the Bird Danger Charts are like for the USA - early this evening, I saw a rather large owl nearly fly into a jogger!
(Near Volunteer Park. Owl - and jogger - looked fine. Former sat on a low branch and glowered at the latter - and me, an innocent bystander. Possibly a barred owl? After a minute or so, it silently flew off - right above my head. First time I've seen a wild owl up-close - despite hearing *loads* of tawny owls growing up in Derbyshire...)
