"content": "A similar question is why did Labour assiduously court the Red Wall Reform vote (which didn't even vote Labour in the Blair years) while actively slagging off its own voter base and being quite sanguine about it peeling off to the Greens and independent MPs. I suspect in part it's because our political class puts far more weight on the opinions of the dying gasps of Fleet Street than it does on the opinions of the general public, because they live in the same village.",
